Wow Great Mini Series

This was a great story. Very creep y especially those evil rats eeek!!!! I hate rats. Very nice story and The ending to the thisrd one was great I was so happy about the ending. I loved Goosebumnps I have just started Reading the Fear Street Books and so far I think they are great. I believe these books can be for older peopel to. Becuase these books were creepy. how can a 9 year old kid see peopels heads being ripped off in a story I don't see how but they do so great Series I intendo to buy some more of the Fear streets any reccomendations from anyone on here on whats another good fears treet to get.

Second Book in the 99 Fear Street: The House of Evil Series

More than a year after "The First Horror" ended, 11th-grader Brandt McCloy and his parents are moving into the 99 Fear Street house. Not long after they arrive, strange things start to happen: Brandt's cat is killed by a flying spear (just curious--why do all pets have to die horribly in Stine's books?), someone or something is moving around at night in the attic, and Brandt finds Cally Frasier's diary, which is mysteriously still being written in.
Apart from the terror at home, Brandt is becoming very popular with the girls at Shadyside High, in particular with Abbie Ayler, Jinny Thompson, and Meg Morris. However, the ghost of Cally Frasier intends to harm everyone Brandt is close to, including the above-mentioned girls. What can Brandt do to protect everybody, including himself, from Cally's pent-up rage? (By the way, since when did Cally get so angry? Maybe it's because she's now part of the evil in the house, but it just seems so out of character. In the first book, she was rather nice.)
Like the first book in this trilogy, "The Second Horror" is just as bad, and I don't mean "bad" as in "good". The ending is unbearably awful, and the plot is just plain silly. So, unless you're a really loyal R. L. Stine fan, I'd skip this trilogy ("The First Horror", "The Second Horror", and "The Third Horror").

The second book of this series is as good as the first. In this one Cally is after the new tenant in the house, 99 Fear Street. His name is Brandt, and his is your normal, good looking, high school boy. The guys compete with him and the girls love him, but one girl wants him all to herself. Cally Frasier, and she will do anything to keep him, including killing him. But she gets a surprise in the end that she will never forget as she sinks deeper and deeper into the evil. This was a very well written book, much better than the goosebumps series. It will keep you on the edge of your seat right until the end. When Brandt tells all, you'll meet one of his worst fears. Cally is just as bad as ever trying to finish off all competition for Brandt. Read this book for an action packed trip to 99 Fear Street.

Adolf Busch (1891-1952) was not only an all-round musician; he was also a moral beacon in troubled times. In 1938, because of Mussolini's race laws, he imposed a similar boycott on Italy, where he had been one of the most popular of classical performers. The following year he emigrated with his quartet colleagues to the United States, where he was not fully appreciated, although he had many successes with his chamber orchestra and founded the Marlboro summer school. This biography, based on more than thirty years' research, documents Busch's life, examining his exemplary behaviour in the context of the tumultuous period in which he lived. 'Adolf is a saint', declared Arturo Toscanini. And Sir Ernest Gombrich said of Busch: 'He was exactly as he played - there was not a false tone in him'. Includes two CDs.

A Knighthood to Tully Potter for his Bio of Golden Age Violinist Adolf Busch

This is a book of extreme importance. It brings to the fore, in great detail and with a sharp writing style, the life and times of one of Germany's greatest musicians, whose direct lineage to Brahms validated his simple elegant virtuoso's style, always playing as if this were the most important thing in his life, totally in the context of his own, unalterable identity as a musician. Every library needs this; every music lover needs to see this, and at least glance through its pages. Tully Potter has been standing up for classical music since he was knee-high to a violin, and deserves a knighthood for this, although he might decline, and a place in our own Classical Music Hall of Fame.

An Exemplary Life and Musical History of the Times

Long awaited, this biography of violinist, composer, quartet and trio leader, teacher, and conductor Adolf Busch (1891-1952), co-founder of the Marlboro School of Music, is a history of the violin, of concerts and chamber-music in the first half of the 20th century. The texts, research notes, copious illustrations, and appendices detail virtually every concert and associate of Busch's life with full descriptions of his musical and personal relations with Reger, Busoni, Tovey, Roentgens and hundreds of others, including those unsympathetic to him such as Furtwaengler, Sibelius, Edwin Fischer, and Elly Ney, for musical or political reasons. Busch's early immigration from Germany and his part in creating the Lucerne Festival and Palestine Symphony Orchestra, precursor of the Israel Philharmonic, before settling in the U.S. and co-founding the Marlboro School of Music with his son-in-law Rudolf Serkin, are fully chronicled, as are those of his brothers, conductor-pianist Fritz Busch and cellist Herman Busch.

Adolf Busch was a stalwart of the German school of violin inherited from Joseph Joachim, standing apart from the Leopold Auer and other schools. The violinists he is most often compared with are Joachim, Bronislaw Huberman, and Joseph Szigeti.

Mr. Potter has done service equal to Henry-Louis de la Grange's for Mahler. His book, well worth the price, is in two volumes, 1400 pp., with hundreds of photographs, many previously unknown. The explanatory notes and identification of those mentioned in the text are exemplary.

This book will change you considerably. It is thought provoking and definately difficult to put down. I truely believe the things that we learn become a part of who we are. I enjoyed reading this book and have recommended it to every avid reader I know. It is a must read! It will change your perspective of how you deal with people, situations and decisions that we make. I believe if everyone read this book it would promote love. I mean loving yourself as well as others and making better choices toward the greater good.

About the Author
Jerome Goddard grew up in Booneville, Mississippi and attended college at the University of Mississippi (B.A. and M.S.) and Mississippi State University (Ph.D.). He is currently an Extension Professor of Medical and Veterinary Entomology at Mississippi State University.

Rosella Goddard is from Luka, Mississippi and has a B.A.E. from the University of Mississippi. She homeschooled their two sons and served over 25 years as a youth minister and Scoutmaster for Troop 99 in the Boy Scouts.

This is a really great product. I'm taking a Medical Entomology class at my University and needed to purchase this book for the course. Since it was really expensive at my university bookstore, I searched here on Amazon.com for a much better price. I saved over $100.00, and my book arrived in excellent condition. Excellent book. Great insight by many of the top contest players. Not only is there much information about the strategy to use in the various contest formats, but there is a wealth of good information on selecting good longshots. Highly reccommended.

One of the Best Books on Horseracing in recent years

This book is loaded with great insight from some of the best tournament players in the horse racing community, many of which are friends of mine and also just overall superb handicappers. You don't have to be a contest player to benefit from the words of the numerous successful players that Peter interviews in this book. Learn how some of these guys attack a given card and what they look for to search out winning longshots. Highly recommended if you are into playing the horses for fun or profit.

A Must Read for Contest Players

Although I am an experienced contest player I definitely found this book helpful. If I was an inexperienced player looking to get into contests this would be my first investment. Author does a good job of getting different viewpoints and strategies from different players. His own passion for the material definitely comes through. Again a must read for experienced and inexperienced players alike.
